Growing Hope: Crafting Sustainable and Accessible Gardens for a Cause.
Project Goal
Our company takes immense pride in being a dedicated contributor to the heartwarming initiative of the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Boise, Idaho. This 47-room haven serves as a comforting refuge for families whose children are undergoing medical treatment at the nearby Boise area medical facility. They contacted CityScapes to produce planters and raised bed gardens to help create a greener and more welcoming environment for these families. The goal was to offer a touch of home away from home for the families facing challenging times. Our hope is that the garden will make a significant difference in the lives of those who call the Ronald McDonald House their temporary home.

OUR Approach
We created eight raised bed gardens for this project. Each features an integrated trellis to allow for vertical plant growth. The trellis features a 6 gauge galvanized aluminum mesh which has been powder-coated black to match the planter frame. These planters are created with long-lasting materials, including our PVC plank boards so many families will be able to enjoy them during their stay for years to come. Additionally, in line with the charity's core value of inclusivity, one of the planters was designed to meet ADA standards for accessibility. This ensures that the garden remains an inviting and welcoming space for all so that everyone can share in the joy of gardening.
From Inspiration to Completion
The motivation behind this project is deeply rooted in the belief that a connection to nature and the act of gardening can profoundly impact individuals' well-being. The planters for this garden were designed to be long-lasting, beautiful, and accessible to everyone. We hope that our contributions will go beyond aesthetics and serve as a source of comfort, enabling these families to truly make the Ronald McDonald House their home away from home.
