OUR APProach
CityScapes adopted a meticulous approach to address the unique challenges the Gwinnett Technical College project presented. To begin, we first approached the project by identifying non-negotiables, such as the necessity for metal louver screens on Covrit to provide ventilation to the mechanical unit. The existing brick columns on-site presented a design challenge that CityScapes ingeniously integrated into their Covrit walls. The walls are 14’ high with a lockable access ToughGate to meet both visual and security needs. Another was meeting the architect’s and the college’s aesthetic needs. Both the ground and roof screening elements were coated with automotive-grade, color-matched paint, ensuring they seamlessly complemented the campus's architectural aesthetics.

Overcoming Challenges
In the case of roof screening, the challenge was to create screens for two air-handling units of varying sizes. Since the client did not have access to cut sheets for these units, CityScapes stepped in with a solution. They conducted a comprehensive site survey to obtain precise measurements and ensure site readiness. Ultimately, the client opted for a post-mounted solution with custom cut-outs to accommodate the unit's attached ductwork. CityScapes' Envisor post-mounted screening solution featuring horizontal rib ABS screening was the perfect fit.

Providing Results
The overarching goals of the Gwinnett Technical College project were twofold. Firstly, it aimed to screen both ground and roof-mounted equipment, addressing code compliance and enhancing security. Secondly, the project had a strong focus on aesthetics, striving to improve the overall visual appeal of the college campus. By introducing Envisor and Covrit, CityScapes sought to create a more functional and visually captivating environment for students and staff, promoting a conducive learning and working atmosphere.
